FROM OUR FAMILY

Greetings to you and your family!

The Lord has truly blessed us this past year. God has been so good to us. He has blessed our family with a new baby, a new home, and a new job.

God answered our prayers by blessing us with a baby girl.   Mia Michelle was born on July 27.   She weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz. and measured 21 inches long at birth.

The Lord led us to a beautiful place to raise and homeschool our children.   On November 11, a dozen families (32 people) from our church helped us move from our townhouse to our new home.  The house is a beautiful A-frame log cabin sitting on a couple of parkland-like acres.

Steve has left his job, where he had worked for the past 10 years. On November 20, he started working as a software engineer at a company specializing in image processing.

Michelle enjoys being a mother of two.   She had been adjusting, healing, and recovering from a difficult postpartum period.   Michelle learned to lean on the Lord during a tough first three weeks.   She had attempted a natural birth after delivering Niko by Cesarean section four years ago.   A week after Mia was born, Michelle was readmitted to the hospital due to complications with her C-section.   We are so grateful that Michelle’s mom helped us out by living with us during those postpartum weeks.

The Lord taught us how great it is to be a part of His family.   Eleven of the families from our church provided meals for us every other day during those first three postpartum weeks.  We witnessed God’s love in action through the faithful love, prayer, and support we received from our church, Family Bible Fellowship www.familybiblefellowship.org).

Niko is now 4 years old.   He has been learning how to read; he can read three-letter words with short vowel sounds.   Niko continues to be creative and imaginative in his playing, singing, and in making up stories.   He enjoys solving puzzles and playing games, such as chess, charades, and sungka (a shell game like the mancala stone game).   Of course, Niko’s favorite pastime is playing with his new “toy” – his baby sister!   He just loves being a big brother!

Mia is 4 ½ months old now.   She smiles often and enjoys jumping in her jumping chair.   Mia is a happy, healthy, and curious baby.   She has recently discovered her voice and likes to squeal.   Most of all, Mia loves playing with her big brother.   She finds him quite amusing; she often laughs while watching him play!

"I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12 NIV)
