"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us." (John 1:1; 1:14a NASB)

FROM OUR FAMILY…

Greetings to you and your family!

The Lord has truly blessed us this past year.  God has been so good to us.  Once again, He has taught us how great it is to be a part of His family.  We witnessed God's love in action through the faithful love, prayer, and support we received from our church, Family Bible Fellowship ( www.familybiblefellowship.org).

MARRIAGE is to be held in honor among all” (Hebrews 13:4a).  Through difficult trials, the Lord has tested our faith.  He has taught us a great deal about endurance.  (James 1:2-4; 1:12 )   God has protected our marriage, and He has been strengthening our marriage by rebuilding it on a more solid foundation. (Matthew 7:24-27).  After eight years of marriage, God has drawn us closer to each other than ever before.

STEVE made another job move this year – going to work with some old friends.  He now has a home office where he does most of his software development.  God showed him that he needed time more than money, so he is also working reduced hours in order to spend more time with the family and getting chores done around the house.  His biggest project thus far has been refinishing the outside of the house.  God answered Michelle’s prayers J with some help from our pastor and a few of the young men from our church.

MICHELLE continues to enjoy being a mother of two.  She has officially become a homeschooling mom.  Three years ago, God had called our family to homeschool, and we began this fall.  So far this school year, she has been focusing on teaching lessons from the Bible and the 3 R’s (reading, writing, ‘rithmetic J).  Michelle is learning how to adapt to Niko’s hands-on learning style; the Lord has given Niko a strong desire to learn.  Michelle has also been enjoying motherhood even more the second time around.  She especially likes dressing up Mia in little girl dresses and watching her care for her baby dolls.

NIKO is now five years old.  He has been learning how to read and write.   He enjoys reading; his favorite book to read aloud is “Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr. Seuss.   Niko continues to be creative and imaginative; he likes to draw and has even developed his own form: making paper cut-out art.  He continues to enjoy solving puzzles, building with legos, gears, and K’nex, and playing with “sister”.

MIA is 16 months old now.   She has had a busy year learning how to walk and talk.   Her favorite hobbies include picking cherry tomatoes from our garden, collecting acorns, and copying everything “brudder” does.   Mia now enjoys running around, “reading” books, and singing; she likes to sing “happy birthday, baby Jesus”.

FAMILY VACATION – while we were in California for Michelle’s brother’s wedding, we enjoyed visits to Muir beach and to Muir Woods where we got to see the mighty redwood trees!

" I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life." (John 8:12 NASB)
